the original MC Dental, located within Melbourne Central Shopping Centre, required an interior rejuvenation to improve the overall visitor experience and increase the number of surgical rooms from 6 to 10 to accommodate their continuous client growth whilst streamlining their dental services.
To take advantage of the city view and prioritise staff wellbeing, the staff room is carefully planned and positioned in the most light-filled area. Fluted glass serves as a partition, maintaining staff privacy while allowing natural light to flow through. The zig-zag composition is a playful nod to the existing facade, gently breaking up the linearity of the space. A dynamic reception wall adds visual interest, welcoming visitors with a cohesive timber finish upon entry which transitions to a fragmented mirror as they exit.
